What’s on in June

It’s Bowel Cancer Awareness Month this month-long initiative aims to raise awareness about bowel cancer, Australia's second deadliest cancer, and encourage regular screening for early detection. 

On the 21^st June is both MND Global Day  – a day to honour everyone affected by motor neurone disease and The Longest Day for Alzhemers Awareness to promote awareness of the condition and raise money to fund research into possible treatments.

Learning Disability Week is from June 16–22 focusing on raising awareness about learning disabilities, promoting understanding, and advocating for the rights and inclusion of individuals with learning disabilities.

What’s on in May

May is Arthritis Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness about this often misunderstood condition that affects millions of people worldwide.

the 1st May is Kiss Goodbye to MS and 30^th May is World MS Day. Every five minutes someone, somewhere in the world is diagnosed with MS. 

This year the campaign advocates for early and accurate diagnosis for everyone living with MS.

It highlights the global barriers to diagnosing MS, raising awareness by sharing real stories and data.

This week is also National Motor Neurone Disease Week, a time to raise awareness about the needs of individuals living with MND and their families, and to acknowledge those who have passed away from the disease. 

What’s on in April

World Autism Understanding Day on April 2 and Autism Month is about raising awareness, acceptance and inclusion of autism. More than 205,000 Australians are autistic and 1 in 4 Australians have a family member on the autism spectrum.

World Health Day is coming up on April which is celebrated annually and each year draws attention to a specific health topic of concern to people all around the world. This year's theme is "Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures".

What’s on in March

Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month
Supporters, activists, and advocates celebrate by wearing the colour green, using the #GoGreen4CP hashtag, and donating to organisations who support people with Cerebral Palsy.

Developmental Disabilities Month aims to increase public awareness about developmental disabilities, promote greater understanding of the issues that affect these individuals and their families, and create opportunities for inclusion within our community.

1st March is International Wheelchair day: an annual day of events and activities around the World when wheelchair users celebrate the positive impact a wheelchair has on their lives.

National Senior Independence Month is celebrated in February in Australia. It's a time to recognize the independence of seniors and to help them age well.
